Imax Movies Review – The Best Movie Fight Scenes

Imax Movies Review – The Best Movie Fight Scenes

10. Romeo Must Die: Han vs. Kai

Romeo Must Die is a 2000 martial arts film directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak. Starring Jet Li, Aaliyah, Anthony Anderson, Delroy Lindo, Isaiah Washington, Russell Wong, and features action and fight choreography by Corey Yuen. It is considered Jet Li's breakout role in the English-speaking American film industry.[citation needed]  The movie's setting was Oakland, California, but other than a few establishing shots, the film was entirely shot in Vancouver, British Columbia.

9. Demolition Man: John Spartan vs. Simon Phoenix

Demolition Man is a 1993 American dystopian action film directed by Marco Brambilla, and starring Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. Sandra Bullock, Nigel Hawthorne and Denis Leary co-star.  The film is a story about two men, one an evil crime lord and the other a risk-taking police officer, who are cryogenically frozen in the year 1996 and reawakened to face each other in 2032. Los Angeles, now called San Angeles, has become part of a planned city where violence is eliminated from mainstream society. Some aspects of the film allude to Aldous Huxley's dystopian novel, Brave New World. Demolition Man grossed $58,055,768 by the end of its box office run in North America and $159,055,768 worldwide.

8. The Princess Bride: Inigo Montoya vs. The Man in Black

The Princess Bride is a 1987 American film, based on the 1973 novel of the same name by William Goldman, combining comedy, adventure, romance, and fantasy. The film was directed by Rob Reiner from a screenplay by Goldman. The story is presented in the movie as a book being read by a grandfather (Peter Falk) to his sick grandson (Fred Savage), thus effectively preserving this novel's narrative style. This film is number 50 on Bravo's "100 Funniest Movies" and number 88 on The American Film Institute's (AFI) "AFI's 100 Years... 100 Passions" listing the 100 greatest film love stories of all time.

7. Robin Hood Prince of Thieves: Robin Hood vs. The Sheriff of Nottingham

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a 1991 adventure film directed by Kevin Reynolds. The film was marketed with the tagline "For the good of all men, and the love of one woman, he fought to uphold justice by breaking the law."  Kevin Costner heads the cast list as Robin Hood. The film also stars Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as Maid Marian of Dubois, Morgan Freeman as Azeem, Christian Slater as Will Scarlet and Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

6. X2 X-Men United: Wolverine vs. Deathstrike

Poster shows a big X, within which are the faces of the film's main characters, and in the centre the film's name.

X2 (often promoted as X2: X-Men United) is a 2003 superhero film based on the fictional characters the X-Men. Directed by Bryan Singer, it is the second film in the X-Men film series. It stars an ensemble cast including Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Aaron Stanford, Brian Cox, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Halle Berry and Kelly Hu.

The plot, inspired by the graphic novel God Loves, Man Kills, pits the X-Men and their enemies, the Brotherhood, against the genocidal Colonel William Stryker (Brian Cox). He leads an assault on Professor Xavier's school to build his own version of Xavier's mutant-tracking computer Cerebro, in order to destroy every mutant on Earth. Development phase for X2 began shortly after X-Men.

David Hayter and Zak Penn wrote separate scripts, combining what they felt to be the best elements of both scripts into one screenplay. Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris were eventually hired for rewrite work, changing characterizations of Beast, Angel and Lady Deathstrike. Sentinels and the Danger Room were set to appear before being deleted because of budget concerns. Filming began in June 2002 and ended that November.

Most of the filming took place at Vancouver Film Studios, the largest soundstage in North America. Production designer Guy Hendrix Dyas adapted similar designs of John Myhre from the previous film. X2 was released in the United States on May 2, 2003 and became both a critical and financial success, earning eight nominations at the Saturn Awards and grossing approximately $407 million worldwide.

5. Braveheart: William Wallace vs. The Magistrate

Braveheart is a 1995 American epic drama film directed by and starring Mel Gibson. The film was written for the screen and then novelized by Randall Wallace. Gibson portrays William Wallace, a Scottish warrior who gained recognition when he came to the forefront of the First War of Scottish Independence by opposing King Edward I of England, also known as "Longshanks" (Patrick McGoohan).  The film won five Academy Awards at the 68th Academy Awards, including the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director, and had been nominated for an additional five.

4. Aliens: Ripley vs. The Alien Queen

Aliens is a 1986 science fiction action film directed by James Cameron and starring Sigourney Weaver, Carrie Henn, Michael Biehn, Lance Henriksen, William Hope, and Bill Paxton. A sequel to the 1979 film Alien, Aliens  is set fifty-seven years after the first film and is regarded by many film critics as a benchmark for the action and science fiction genres. In Aliens, Weaver's character Ellen Ripley returns to the planet LV-426 where she first encountered the hostile Alien. This time she is accompanied by a unit of Colonial Marines.

Aliens' action-adventure tone was in contrast to the horror motifs of the original Alien. Following the success of The Terminator (1984), which helped establish Cameron as a major action director, 20th Century Fox greenlit Aliens with a budget of approximately $18 million. It was filmed in England at Pinewood Studios, and at a decommissioned power plant.  Aliens earned $86 million in the United States box office during its 1986 theatrical release and $131 million internationally. The movie was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including a Best Actress nomination for Sigourney Weaver. It won in the categories of Sound Effects Editing and Visual Effects.

3. The Matrix Revolutions: Neo vs. Agent Smith

The Matrix: Revolutions is a 2003 American science fiction film and the third and final installment of The Matrix trilogy. The film was released six months following The Matrix Reloaded. The film was written and directed by the Wachowski brothers  and released simultaneously in sixty countries on November 5, 2003. Despite the fact that it is the final film in the series, the Matrix storyline continued in The Matrix Online. The film was the first live-action film to be released in both regular and IMAX movie theaters at the same time. The Wachowskis were present in Tokyo at the opening of the movie, as were stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Keanu Reeves.

2. Gladiator: Maximus vs. Commodus

A man standing at the center of the image is wearing armor and is holding a sword in his right hand. In the background is the top of the Colosseum with a barely visible crowd standing in it. The poster includes the film's title, cast credits, and release date.

Gladiator is a 2000 historical epic directed by Ridley Scott, starring Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Ralf Moeller, Oliver Reed, Djimon Hounsou, Derek Jacobi, John Shrapnel and Richard Harris. Crowe portrays the loyal General Maximus Decimus Meridius, who is betrayed when the Emperor's ambitious son, Commodus (Phoenix), murders his father and seizes the throne.

Reduced to slavery, Maximus rises through the ranks of the gladiatorial arena to avenge the murder of his family and his Emperor.  Released in the United States on May 5, 2000, it was a box office success, receiving generally positive reviews, and was credited with briefly reviving the historical epic. The film was nominated for and won multiple awards; it won five Academy Awards in the 73rd Academy Awards including Best Picture. Although there have been talks of both a prequel and sequel, as of 2010, no production has begun.

1. Return of the Jedi: Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker

Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi is a 1983 American space opera film directed by Richard Marquand and written by George Lucas and Lawrence Kasdan. It is the third film released in the Star Wars saga, and the sixth and final in terms of internal chronology. It is the first film to use THX technology.  The film is set approximately one year after Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

The evil Galactic Empire, with the help of the villainous Darth Vader, is building a second Death Star in order to crush the Rebel Alliance. Since the new space station is not yet operational and Emperor Palpatine plans to personally oversee the final stages of its construction, the Rebel fleet launches a full-scale attack on the Death Star in order to prevent its completion and kill Palpatine, effectively bringing an end to the Empire. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker, a Rebel leader and Jedi Knight, struggles to bring his father, Darth Vader, himself a fallen Jedi, away from the Dark Side of the mystical Force.

The film was released in theaters on May 25, 1983, receiving mostly positive reviews. The film grossed over $475 million worldwide. Several home video and theatrical releases and revisions to the film followed over the next 20 years. It was the last Star Wars film released theatrically until Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace began the prequel trilogy in 1999.

No additional licenses needed for extra countries, regions or services like traffic information or city guides. Data charges from network operators may apply.

Voice Guidance and Traffic Information
Turn-by-turn, voice guided navigation comes free for both drivers and pedestrians. For drivers this includes lane assistance, traffic information, safety camera, and speed warnings. For pedestrians, this includes shortcuts through parks and pedestrian-only zones for over 100 cities around the world as well as 6,000 3D landmarks in over 200 cities to help you find exactly where you are.

Unique Hybrid Technology
Ovi Maps is built on an advanced technology called hybrid vector maps. Vector maps are high quality but less data intensive and allow you to continue to navigate even if you lose your network connection. This means that maps downloaded or updated across a network connection are about half the size of bulky bitmaps used by other mobile map providers. The hybrid technology ensures that, unlike other providers, any downloaded map data is stored on the device for future use.

No Network Connection Required When Navigating
Avoid expensive, battery-draining network connections with Nokia's unique hybrid technology. Maps can be pre-loaded on to your Nokia smartphone so you can set Ovi Maps to offline mode, saving battery power, and the navigation system will still work. This is particularly useful for those worried about data connection costs when travelling abroad or when you are travelling through areas with little or no network coverage.

Best Global Coverage
You take your mobile with you wherever you go in the world so, as standard, voice guided navigation for both pedestrians and drivers is available for 74 countries in 46 different languages and there are maps for over 180 countries. This gives you the best maps with the largest global coverage for free.

Archos 5 250 GB-Archos 5 250 GB Internet Media Tablet On Sale.

Archos 5 250 GB-Archos 5 250 GB Internet Media Tablet On Sale.

Rating: 4

Big Savings on Archos 5 250 GB Free 2-Day Shipping w/Amazon Prime! Archos players in gadget magazines and thought that they look really nice and can store lots of data. Not too mention the cost; when you compare the size of the device and storage space, its such good value when you compare it to other media players like the iPods.

I have but one grumble with the player and that is how Archos 5 250 GB has "locked" a few of the file formats so that if you want to play them, you have to pay for the codec.

Granted, its only an extra $30, but it is a bit annoying. I had read many reviews of this player before i bought it and they all seem either really good or bad..... Well all i can say is the player is fantastic! The touchscreen is responsive, the storage capacity is amazing, the media format playlist (once youve got the extra codecs) is unrivaled by any other player and the battery life is significant!

I recently had over 5hrs of video playing on the player before is started to die, when Archos 5 250 GB only recommends 4hrs playback. If like me, your not an Apple fan and are looking for a device to play videos and music, while also accessing the internet; I recommend this player! Best gadget buy I've bought!

LCD TV Flat Screen Review – LCD TV Flat Screen TVs Shopping Guide-(Part I)

LCD TV Flat Screen Review – LCD TV Flat Screen TVs Shopping Guide-(Part I)
onelinkpr

Buying a new flat screen TVs can be very confusing. For the average consumer, the amount of different makes, models and technologies can be overwhelming. To make matters worse many sales representatives make matters worse by serving up an endless stream of technical data and buzz words that most people do not understand.

This guide was written to make the decision process easier when shopping for a TV. It explains the differences between the three different types of flat screen TVs, what technical specifications to look for, and finally some tips on how to pick the best performing model.

The first decision to make is what type of TV you want to get. Currently the three major classes of flat screen TVs include LCD TV, Plasma and Rear Projection. While large flat screen TVs were pioneered by plasma TVs, the current trend seems to be towards LCD.

A rear projection TV works by having the image projected onto a screen. As the name implies the image is projected from the back of the unit and onto a canvas. The major advantage of this technology is price. Rear projection TVs can offer very large pictures for prices that can't be rivaled by a plasma or LCD TV. Rear projection TVs become a real alternative if you are looking for screen sizes above 60 inches. The major disadvantages with this class of TV are the bulky size and picture quality. While still significantly smaller than a traditional tube TV, a rear projection TV is still much thicker and heavier than a plasma or LCD TV. A rear projection TV can not be wall mounted.

With the advances in HD broadcasting, one of the major technological steps forward is a jump in image quality. A rear projection TV will not be able to replicate the crisp clear images of a LCD TV or plasma TV. While the quality of the picture is still above a regular TV, the technology used to project the image makes it difficult to deliver images that are as vibrant and sharps as what the other classes of TVs can offer. One last disadvantage is that rear projection TVs are getting harder and harder to find. If you want to get one of these sets you might have a hard time finding a local retailer that still carries these TVs.

A Plasma TV works by energizing tiny pockets of gas that creates a bright light. This process is very quick wich leads to Plasma TVs having very good response times compared to many LCD TVs. Plasma TVs became very popular as the image quality of the earlier sets was unrivaled on the market. The images most of us associate with HDTV where introduced by plasma TVs.

The ultra sharp images and bright color rendering was revolutionary. Today the quality gap between plasma and LCD TVs is barely noticeable. Enthusiasts still favor plasma TVs for the better image quality, but for the regular consumer this difference will most often not be a major factor. Typically, a plasma TV will produce deeper black levels and have crisper contrast than a LCD TV.

Early Plasma TVs had a very limited life span, with models burning out in as little as a few years. The sets that are sold today have improved on this flaw, but due to the type of technology used you should still expect a plasma TV to have a limited life span. Another factor is that Plasma TVs tend to be more expensive than LCD screens. They are also heavier which makes wall mounting large plasma screens more difficult.

LCD TVs not only weigh less than a similar plasma TV they also use less energy, run cooler and perform better in bright light. Another advantage of the LCD TVs is that they generally cost less than a plasma TV. The trade off is mainly in picture quality as plasma screens are still holding on to a slim lead in image quality.

Early LCD TV models suffered from a noticeably grainy picture. Especially contrasted to the silky smooth images of a plasma TV the clearly visible pixels of the LCD TVs seemed to negate many of the advantages of the HDTV format over regular standard definition TVs. As the technology has improved LCD TVs look better. Still, keep this fact in mind as you are shopping for TVs. Make sure that you watch any model you are considering at the distance and angle you expect to view the TV in your own living room. In store displays are configured to show the TVs off from their best side and they might not perform as well in your house.

E-mail to SMS Messages Review – Free SMS Messages Gates Still Exists !

E-mail to SMS Messages Review – Free SMS Messages Gates Still Exists !

In stock: Take advantage of short-term actions

send sms messagesT-Mobile on their club website offers triple points for setting up direct debits. As previously reported, the possibility to get to 3 000 club points. It is precisely these points, we can (with a financial supplement) used to purchase almost 400 t-zones credits which make it possible to send about 120 SMS in Slovakia from magentového portal operator. Points of course prirátané to ready your next invoice. Perhaps the only downside is that if this SMS message solution very usual, then all SMS messages has charged the full amount.

For extremists: Two more sites

We recently reported on four functional SMS messages gateways. Basically it was a service for which we use hardly talk about how comfortable and far less than reliable. The above is attached a couple of new tips for similar services, which we found on the website dubidam.com.

The site works  sending SMS messages to 140 characters in length. To use requires registration, which limits the number of sent SMS messages. What is their number, we were unable to detect. The solution may be to register another e-mail, which gain is not as problematic.

According Dubidam may also be delayed 2 days, we tested came with the report immediately. Interesting is that the widget SMS messages gateway can also add to your own site. Annoying is that sometimes the system sends instructions to send replies from the recipient's phone, even if you do not want the sender. This answer is for the use of course fee.

I remember when the service Wadja.com between the extreme solutions is quite reliable. This is a community project, which also offers chat, e-mail and other services. SMS messages can be sent to all three networks, Slovak, and abroad, and are delivered almost immediately. To use requires registration. The report can be 117 characters to write their own text, the other fills a place self promo which operates rather confusingly. Number of sent messages is limited.

Trend: International numbers for better services

For several years, some used a simple trick to gain a better web SMS messages service. Through familiar or personally buy a SIM card with the number needed for registration in some portals. They will often benefit both of which we dream or Slovakia.

For example, irish operator after the registration number Irish O2 offers users up to 250 SMS messages a month from the portal, which can be sent virtually the entire world. (In Slovak numbers Telefonica O2 can not send messages yet.) There is a list of contacts and groups that work with the reports easier.

Another interesting tip is the site http://www.textual.tv that the registration has 101 messages with 160 characters. Register to be British, Irish and Australian telephone number.

Other favorable foreign services monitor and try to get their comprehensive database. In preparing the article on this topic we can also help you with their contributions in the debate.

Email to SMS Messages Review – SMS Messages and Email Notifications For Utorrent

Email to SMS Messages Review – SMS Messages and Email Notifications For Utorrent

In this guide you will learn how to send email and sms messages notifications to yourself or friends when a torrent is complete in Utorrent.

It requires basic knowledge of the command prompt, utorrent and hardware. If you get stuck just comment.

Part 1 - Email Notification.

Step 1. Email via the command line

You will need an email to command line program - I use Send Email (link here) but there are many good programs.

Extract and save the program in your root directory such as C, or in its own folder eg. C:/SendEmail/. This will make it easier to use.

It is important to familiarize yourself with your command line email program by sending a few test emails.

Run a command prompt by going to Start-Run, type cmd and then click OK.

Change the directory to the folder you saved the program by typing: cd Directory eg cd SendEmail

Send an email by typing the programs name followed by the inputs it needs to send an email.

eg. C:/Sendemail/Sendemail -t email@email.com -u test email -m hi, this is just a test email to learn how to use the program. -f fromemail@email.com -s smtp.gmail.com:587 -xu username -xp password

This command will send an email:

-t To: to email@email.com

-u Subject: test email

-m Message :hi, this is just a test email to learn how to use the program.

-f From: fromemail@email.com

-s SMTP server - in this case I used gmail and set the port. You can normally just use your ISPs smtp server without port, username or password.

-xu SMTP username if required

-xp SMTP password if required

After entering the command, you should receive your email shortly. If you have any problems, see the send email website listed above to troubleshoot commands.

Step 2. Sending in Utorrent

Now that you are familiar with sending emails via the command line, it is easy to set up in Utorrent. When you add a torrent, click on the advanced button:

Now click on the advanced tab. If a torrent is already in progress, right click on it and go to properties, there you will see the advanced tab.

Now all you need to do is paste the appropriate command into the 'Run Program' box. It is important to use the %F %N and %D commands in the message and subject. These put in the torrent name and file names so you know which torrent finishes.

This is an example of what to put in the program field.

C:/Sendemail/Sendemail -t email@email.com -u %N %F complete -m hi, your torrent %N filename %F is complete and is saved in %D -f fromemail@email.com -s smtp.gmail.com:587 -xu username -xp password

OK- so email taken care of.. now SMS Messages!

Part 2 - SMS Messages Notification

email to sms messagesThere are 2 ways to send SMS messages notifications, we will start with the easy cheap way -Email to SMS Messages Gateway.

Method 1. Email to SMS Messages Gateway

Many cell/mobile networks provide an email to sms messages gateway that allows an email sent to an email address to be sent on to a numbers SMS. An example would be 19001287309@somemobile.com will send to the cell number 19001287309.  Check if the provider you are sending your SMS messages notification supports this feature. It is usually cheap if not free.

If your cell/mobile provider does support email to sms messages, simply use the above email method to send out your notification, just replace the email address with the correct email to sms messages gateway address. This method also allows you to send both an SMS messages and an email, just send to a SMS gateway and a regular email.

Not all providers offer Email to SMS Messages - and some can be expensive the other option is to send the SMS message yourself....

Method 2. SMS Messages via Command Line + Mobile tethering

This method requires a SMS Messages to command line tool just like email notifications. I use Send SMS Messages (link here).

Install it to an easy to remember directory like C:/SendSMS/. Become familiar with sending SMS Messages from the command line.

SendSMS /port:COM1 02751728729 Hello!

Will send an SMS to 02751728729 saying 'Hello!' from the phone attached to COM1

SendSMS /port:COM4 1234561651 Hi!

Will send an SMS to1234561651 saying Hi! from the phone attached to COM4

Note: You must specify the com port if using com 2 3 or 4. 1 is the default.

Now a word about Cell/Mobile Phones.

Almost any type of phone you can connect to your PC will work for this method. You can connect via Serial, USB or Bluetooth(often unreliable). You can also use mobile data cards and USB sticks that take a SIM card and can send SMS Messages.

I'm not sure that CDMA phones will work and windows mobile 6 and up might not work. Technically the phone or data card just has to support AT commands and have the ability to send SMS Messages. I suggest using a cheap old phone that you don't need.

Also-  find a way to send cheap SMS messages.. mine can be free depending on what number I send to. Many providers have special deals.. but that is up to you.

You should normally install the connection software (eg Nokia PC Suite etc) from the phone manufacturer before connecting your phone as this installs the correct drivers. If you know what you are doing you can simply install the correct modem drivers for the phone.Once the phone is connected it will appear in device manager as a modem.

To access device manager go to Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware tab, Device Manager.

I can potentially use the Nokia or the Sierra Wireless USB dongle for this.. but we will use the Nokia as the example.

Double click on the Phone to bring up the Modem Properties Window. Click on the Modem Tab to check the COM port. For Send SMS Messages it must be 4 or less. If the port is COM 5 or above, click on the Advanced Tab, click on Advance Port Settings.

Change the Port to a port COM1 to COM 4. If these ports are in use, unplug some devices or change the ports on other devices to free up these ports.Press OK a few times to confirm the changes.

Send a test SMS message or 2 from the command line.

Sending SMS Messages from the command line is very useful for things like server notifications and Batch SMS Messages but we will just concentrate on utorrent!

Using SMS Messages Command In Utorrent

See the email guide for how to run the program when a download completes.

The command to use will be something like this.

C:\SendSMS\SendSMS  /port:COM4 0728372039 Your Torrent %N is saved in %D!

The SMS Messages is now sent to your phone.

Any questions please comment!
